Beverage Favorites at The Dog Society

The Hydrant at the dog bar within San Diego based Dog Society

This is a hard one because The Dog Society has so many great choices. Although, my go-to drink there is a Lead Dog Peanut Butter Stout. And the best part? You can even make it a float for a few bucks more. Not into stouts or peanut butter? No worries! Their hydrant offers so many other choices as well. You can get a cool, refreshing Michelada made with your favorite Mexican lager, or a Kombucha, or a wide range of local San Diego craft beers.

Location of The Dog Society

The Dog Society is conveniently located near San Diego’s College neighborhood in Rolando Village - a short drive from pretty much anywhere in San Diego.

Formerly Savagewood Brewing, Night Parade has adopted the doggy vibe and welcomes all friendly, leashed dogs to their outdoor patio area. There is plenty of space for your pup to walk around and meet other pups. And any brewery that has a photo board boasting about all the visiting dogs is sure to be super dog-friendly!

Whether you’re looking for hoppy IPAs, ales, or smooth lagers, they have something to please each palate. My personal favorite Night Parade beer is Break On Through - a West Coast IPA with a fruity and piney taste. However, they just added a new one and it's only available for a limited time. Anchor Star is another West Coast IPA (see a trend here?) and it incorporates Nelson and Southern Cross hops to give it a dry and sweet taste.

Location of Night Parade Brewing

Nestled in the quiet neighborhood of Scripps Ranch, Night Parade has become a local favorite of the Mira Mesa, Rancho Penasquitos, and Scripps Ranch neighborhoods.

Alesmith Brewing Company - Miramar/UTC

Alesmith Brewing Company is a San Diego staple and has been crafting amazing brews since 1995. Not only do they offer an impressive selection of craft beers they also make sure every pup that visits their tasting room feels welcome too!

At Alesmith, dogs are welcomed with open arms! There’s plenty of space for your pup to roam around and check out all the other pups. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for you and your pup to hang out, plus they even provide water bowls for thirsty pups. Also, Alesmith was home to Helen Woodward's PAWMICON 2023!

Beers at Alesmith Brewing Company

Alesmith is best known for its hoppy IPAs and ales, but they offer a variety of styles including some sours, ales, lagers, and even a few barrel-aged beers. My personal favorite from Alesmith is the San Diego Pale Ale .394 - a nod to legendary Padres' Tony Gwynn's career-high batting average! Created to his taste, this brew packs a light taste with a kick! Even better, for every sale of .394, Alesmith donates a portion to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation.

Location of Alesmith Brewing Company

Alesmith Brewing Company can be found in Miramar area of San Diego. Also known as the birthplace of craft beer in San Diego, Miramar is central to most places in San Diego and is a stone's throw from UTC/La Jolla.
